Most leadership growth doesn’t happen through big reinventions. It happens through small, deliberate adjustments, one degree at a time. And over a month or a quarter, that one degree becomes the difference between a team that’s stuck… and a team that’s moving.
Heading into the weekend, step out of the “delivery mode” and look at your leadership like a scientist: what tiny change would create the biggest ripple?
3 practical reflection questions:
- What’s the moment this week where I felt tension, pressure, or frustration - and what one-degree shift in my response would have lifted the outcome?
- What’s one leadership habit I defaulted to this week (control, certainty, speed, silence, rescuing) - and what’s the one-degree upgrade version of that habit?
- What is the single smallest action I can take next week that will compound (a clearer expectation, a braver conversation, a better question, a protected focus block, a deliberate handover)?
Pick one one-degree shift. Write it down. Practice it next week.
And have a great weekend.
